Questions about this letter
All questions →- Will my university accept this letter?
- Universities and colleges set their own evidence rules. Some accept a signed letter from a GMC-registered doctor; others ask for specific evidence. Check your guidance or ask student support before you order.
- Can I use it for mitigating circumstances?
- Yes, as evidence with your claim, if the doctor issues a letter. The panel decides the outcome. Check the panel's deadline and attach the letter to your form.
- Can I use it for a coursework extension?
- Yes. Most universities ask for evidence with an extension request, and they set their own deadlines for it. Your course handbook or student support will say when and where to send it.
- What dates can it cover?
- The doctor decides which dates, if any, the letter covers, based on your answers. One letter covers up to 6 weeks. For longer absences, see your GP.
- How do I get it in time?
- Choose a delivery speed in the form, from 72 hours to 2-hour urgent. Same day orders must be submitted by 6pm. Times are estimates, so leave time before your deadline.
- Can my university check the letter is genuine?
- Yes. Staff can check it on Dr Sick's website at drsick.co.uk/verify (opens Dr Sick's website). Dr Sick operates DoctorNote.
